As a review review looking back to explore 6 elections 76 , 80 , 84 , 88 , 92 , and 94 Introduction provided a very interesting discussion about the meaning, value, risk, and expectation attached with election whether election is for a person better than others or everyone is as good as each other , as well as a discussion about the advantages and threats of a dual party political system Then the next six chapters were focusing each election, reviewing the critical details and events in that election, and linking the social issues at that election with the environment at that time A good collection of case study like analyses of two decades slide of Americans feeling towards both elections and the general social environment If you want some detailed, like a sport game report discussions about how social issues were influenced by political moments and vice versa influencing the political landscape, this book provides a good and vivid start and example.Personal review 1 the discussion of the value and cultural concepts attached to election is very interesting, introduction part needs reading, though it is actually very easy to read The same goes to the discussion of two parties system.2 it is interesting to feel how disappointed Americans got and what their feelings were during 1976 1994, which was addressed as a slide by the author Why is it due to a too high expectation, being successful for so long that people had forgotten the taste of being limited, bad luck of having so many bad presidents in a row, or some systematic, deeper, structural problems Or it is just the ebb and flow of the history Are we facing a similar time now, with Bush, Clinton, another Bush, Obama, and now Trump in a row 3 also a good historic material.4 Would this change or pattern relate with cultural changes or patterns and then crime trends
