Are you looking for a fun read that will draw you in and put a smile on your face Then Kissed by a Cowboy is the one I m not exaggerating, I found myself smiling throughout this book Cassidy is a lovable heroine She is a total klutz and I loved that about her, because I can so relate Jarrod is the real deal You want cowboy You got it with Jarrod Monahan I really wanted the ranch life feel with this book and I got it I was also satisfied with the small town Texas feel Yeah, some of it was just fluff but but it was believable, adorable and entertaining And the title fit perfectly That kiss was amazing Not every romance writer can write a good kiss This is the first book I ve read by this author but it will not be the last

Kissed by a Cowboy was a fun, fluffy read for me I didn t fall in love with the characters or the story line, but I still enjoyed the read I really liked the details about the land and owning a ranch I also thought it was such a cool thing that Cassidy was trying to do own a bed and breakfast, sell strawberries and peaches, etc It just seems like such a warm way to live, I wish I could have seen her hopes and dreams come to fruition a bit.The plot did feel a bit repetitive to me Jarrod was a bit too forceful and Cassidy too timid, both of their actions saying the opposite of their words A bit of that is okay, if done realistically, but for me, it just felt like the same thing happened over and over I also don t care for scenes when a character knowingly puts themselves in danger it just doesn t feel realistic.Even so, please know that my typical reads are not contemporary, and if they are, they don t usually feature cowboys, so this isn t my usual reading fare Readers that like these types of stories will most likely enjoy this one I liked the setting and secondary characters enough that I wouldn t mind reading the other books in the series at some point as well.

There are so many great opportunities to grin while reading Kissed By A Cowboy, the final book in the Four of Hearts Ranch series by Debra Clopton From the quirky residents of Wishing Springs to some Monahan brotherly ribbing to Jarrod s drawling dreaminess, be prepared to smile A lot And when Jarrod sets his mind to wooing well, best have your fainting couch handy Jarrod and Cassidy have a history both would call the other the one that got away This history between them only increases their chemistry, which evidently hasn t lost its spark You could practically hear the spark and sizzle in the air right from their first shared scene The fact that Cassidy spends most of that scene half in and half out of a doggy door with Jarrod talking to the uh back end is your first clue that their heat comes with just the right amount of humor.Speaking of humor, the ladies of the Cut Up and Roll beauty salon are as hilarious and endearing as ever Between their drooling over Jarrod and their inability to stay out of everyone else s business, they are a hoot and a half.I am still twitterpated over Jarrod His drawl His steadfast pursuit of Cassidy His lazy grin His love for Pops His kisses A certain um shirtless scene Whew He s a gentleman, of course, but Cassidy does bring out the playful rogue side of him That combination in a cowboy Lethal to those of us who collect book boyfriends.Bottom Line As a fan of the Four of Hearts Ranch series, I ve been waiting for Jarrod s story I wasn t disappointed Debra Clopton s wit and talent shine in this fitting farewell to the Monahans Though this is the third book in the series, it isn t absolutely necessary to have read the other two The electricity between Jarrod and Cassidy will keep a grin on your face and a swoon in your heart Kissed By A Cowboy is fun, entertaining, and romantic If you like Denise Hunter or Becky Wade, you ll enjoy Debra Clopton s books too I received a copy of this book in exchange for only my honest review.

KISSED BY A COWBOY started off so fun with an awkward moment between two friends who haven t seen either other in a long time It set the tone for this book full of small town charm, a cowboy who wants to love a gal, and a gal who is trying to stand on her own I enjoyed the humor, the swoon worthy moments, the family relationships with all the heart and teasing, and the small town feel The heroine didn t work for me, but I loved the hero and the other characters.I loved Jarrod through the whole story I loved his charm, work ethics, willingness to help, and his strength I also loved his family They added quite a bit to this story and it was great to see them again after getting to know them in the first two books I also enjoyed the other characters from the town I m still pulling for RandI really enjoyed the first two books in this series, but for some reason, this one didn t quite work for me as well I think I just didn t connect with Cassidy and felt she was a little unreasonably set against Jarrod and was a little out of control It worked at first, but after a couple of hundred pages of her still in the same place, still dramatic, still not growing or changing how I think she should be, it got old It made the story rather frustrating.Overall a decent inspirational romance I liked getting to see Jarrod get a happily ever after, but definitely not my favorite in the series.Content CleanSource I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through Litfuse Publicity for the purposes of a review for the book s tour, which did not affect my review in any way.

Kissed by a Cowboy was a very enjoyable ending to a wonderful series This story can be read as a stand alone, but is even enjoyable if the first two books are read before it.Poor Cassidy I really felt for her and all the hurt that she experienced in her first marriage I wanted her to open her heart to love, but she was just so scared This frustrated me a bit, but I realized this was a symptom of how hard her life had been up to this point I still liked her as a character and looked forward to when she would finally be willing to risk her heart.Jarrod was a wonderful character, just like the other Monahan brothers have been in the previous books I loved the way he handled things, whether it was trying to break through Cassidy s defenses or trying to save the family ranch I really enjoyed his character.Another fun part of this book was getting to reconnect with the couples from books one and two I loved reading about what was going on in their lives This small town and the people in it felt so real to read about and I have enjoyed this entire collection very much.I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, through Litfuse Publicity, in exchange for an honest review. You can read this review on my blog at

Kissed by a Cowboy tells the story of the final Monahan brother, Jarrod It was great to visit Wishing Springs again and see characters from the two prior books, especially Pebble and Rand.Jarrod and Cassidy s story didn t pull me in like the prior two novels did I found some of the actions to be abrupt and others unrealistic I look forward to future novels by this author and recommend this series for readers that enjoy contemporary westerns.

Reviewed at The Power of Words in the small community of Wishing Springs, Texas, Kissed by a Cowboy is a fun and entertaining read, filled with comical moments as well as heart melting moments What can you expect to find in this story Cowboys, spark filled romance, a quirky and loveable supporting cast, cattle rustlers, cowboys, recovering alcoholic, a pet pig named Clover, Thanksgiving in July and did I mention cowboys I never fail to enjoy Debra s humor and her writing style that flows so easily across the page Family is at the heart of this series, which is built around the love Bo, Tru and Jarrod Monahan have for their grandfather, Pops Each brother has his own story, and while Kissed by a Cowboy can stand alone, reading all three books in order would give a pleasurable reading experience I really can t pick a favorite book, as it might be a case of loving whichever story I m reading at the moment yet I have to admit that there was something especially touching about Jarrod and Cassidy I was drawn to this quiet, committed older brother in the first book and have been looking forward to his story ever since While Tru and Bo contributed through their horse training and custom stirrup businesses, it was Jarrod who shouldered the responsibility of managing the family ranch, literally keeping it afloat, and he was fearful of letting his brothers down And as a result, he had put his own life and dreams on hold. For Cassidy, a marriage filled with betrayal behind her, the story has a sweet coming home feel Cassidy has trouble letting go of the past and its guilt, a theme to which many of us can relate, and her steadfast refusal to open up her heart was often frustrating to me yet had I lived through the rough times she experienced, I could see myself reacting similarly I loved these words of wisdom from Reba, One bad ride does not mean the rodeo is over A Christian element is definitely present in this story, but I longed for spiritual depth The Monahan family attends church and we re told that Cassidy drifted away from God during her divorce, but I missed seeing their personal belief and how it affected their lives Yet on the other hand, Christian values are reflected in character actions The theme of legacy runs throughout not just a physical legacy, but that of a life well lived Most touching to me is love for family, especially the wonderful example set by the Monahan brothers in caring for their grandfather who suffers from Alzheimer s.I look forward to entertaining reads from Debra Recommended.Thank you to Litfuse Publicity for providing a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

About the BookCassidy was looking for a home and a place to belong not for a cowboy to steal her heart.Having lived through her parents endless string of matrimonial bliss gone wrong, Cassidy Starr knows when the odds are not in her favor Divorced and humiliated, her faith on rocky ground, Cassidy is through with love She s been bucked off that horse far too many times Instead, she returns to Wishing Springs, Texas, and the rundown farm she s inherited from her great aunt Roxie She ll reopen the strawberry farm and a bed breakfast and follow in her aunt s footsteps, remaining forever independent, happy and single.Rancher Jarrod Monahan s hands are full running the ranch, looking after his ailing grandfather, and chasing down a group of rustlers on the loose He s pushed his longing for a family to the bottom of his list of priorities Besides, he was in love once but ran scared and lost his shot at happiness But suddenly, the biggest regret of his life has moved in next door with a wounded heart, determined to become a spinster and that s a challenge that Jarrod can t pass up.Jarrod sets his mind to breaking down the walls around Cassidy s stubborn heart How can he show her that a cowboy s kiss lasts forever For the good folks of Wishing Springs, falling in love has never been so much fun to witness. My ReviewOh my Why have I never read a Debra Clopton novel before Debra is now on my list of must read authors I need to buy the previous two books in this series because this book was amazing and was exactly what I had hoped it would be and I usually don t read much contemporary, but since it was mixed with romance and western I knew I would love it is despite the contemporary setting Kissed by a Cowboy was a swoon worthy read and I really loved it.Note I recieved this book for free for an honest review.

4.5I really love this series Its packed full of small town charm, lovable characters and of course swoony romance This is the third book in the Four Hearts Ranch series, it can stand on its own, but all three books are fun to read and there is a little character overlap Jarrod is the oldest Monahan brother and helps run the family ranch He s a great character and after meeting him in the first two books I was looking forward to his story Cassidy is just getting out of a bad marriage and has sworn to never marry again She wants to reopen her Aunt s strawberry farm and start a BB She does not want a relationship, especially with her old crush Jarrod She has some pretty big walls up and Jarrod is determined to knock them down I really enjoyed Jarrod and Cassidy s story They have great chemistry I liked how he was so patient with her and doesn t give up Cassidy has been through a lot, I understand why she was slow to jump into another relationship and glad in a way that she wants to put herself first for once I was wondering how they were going to figure things out.Overall, this is a great series I love the characters and think they re all just a fun escape ContentRomance CleanLanguage MildViolence None MildReligious Mild Moderate, not preachySource Review copy

The ranch setting with wide open spaces and small town Texas community is so well depicted it made me want to go live there I liked Cassidy s plan of recovering from her divorce and taking back her life by returning to the place where she was happy as a child and teen and get lost in the hard work of starting a new business and farm You could tell how severe her emotional issues were with the interactions she had with Jarrod She kept their relationship rocky as she ran hot and cold mostly cold as Jarrod tried his best to help her and she resisted any assistance which she viewed as a threat to her independence Their experiences from the past made Jarrod refuse to give up on her though, and the story focuses on the progression of her feelings as she slowly lets him in The subplots of the rustlers and a rekindled romance among an older couple in the town added variety to the narrative I adored how Jarrod treated her with respect but also gave her a little push when she needed it, especially when he was desperate to get closer to her A great addition to the Four of Hearts Ranch series Thank you to Litfuse Publicity and Thomas Nelson Publishing for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review
