I first came across this book at a thrift store back in college Once I read it, I was so glad I had picked it up It is a book I want to get for everyone in my life Though it is a children s picture book, it has a message that is deeply meaningful to anyone of any age The words, the stories and the book as a whole are rather obscure but some how for me, that is all part of the relevancy of the bookanyone who reads it will have a profoundly private experience with it that conjours up their own stories, their own memories, their own experiences It is one to read in a quiet moment on your own When you finally do, if you choose to keep it on your bookshelf, it will become that old friend of a book that is a reminder of its experience with youforever tugging at your strings to lift you up.

This is the best book ever written As a child I loved If You re Afraid of the Dark, Remember the Night Rainbow, even though I didn t understand it I still don t understand it, but I find it funny, entertaining and useful I take to heart some of the advice in the book like, If you find your socks don t match, stand in a flower bed Ok, maybe not literally, but as an adult it sounds to me like, When you feel like you stick out too much, go hang out with other mismatched people and you ll feel normal again Another gem, When the light goes out, wear it around your neck and go dancing Ok so I can t control what the light does, but I can control what I do in response so I ll make that response joyfull Read it If you don t like it, read it backwards.
